A website health check that knows what your site is for.
Tell Vantage what your website should bring in, whether that's enquiries, sales, bookings, calls or sign-ups. Its website health check reads up to 25 pages, follows the path visitors take to get in touch, and lists the improvements that will make the biggest difference first.

What the website health check does
What the website health check looks at
Seven areas of your site, each with its own score and the improvements for every page that needs them.
What a website health check should tell you
Plenty of tools will list your website's technical errors. Vantage's website health check asks a more useful question: is the site bringing in the customers it should? Everything it checks comes back to that.
It starts with your goal
A hairdresser's site needs bookings, a builder's needs enquiries and an online shop needs sales. The same improvement can matter a lot to one and very little to another, so the health check asks what your site is for and weights the score around it.
That way, the improvements at the top of the list are the ones most likely to bring in more of what you want, not just the most technical-sounding ones.
Following the path to getting in touch
The health check follows the steps a visitor takes, from the page they land on to sending an enquiry, booking or buying. It looks for a clear next step at the end of each important page, forms that ask only for what they need, and a way to count each enquiry, such as a thank-you page or an analytics event.
It also checks for what people look for before they trust a business they have not used before: reviews, accreditations, an about page, contact details and a privacy policy.
One thing worth doing yourself: send a test enquiry from your own phone. Most owners only ever test their form on a computer.
Check a page before you send ads to it
Before you spend on ads, make sure the page people will land on is ready for them. Choose one page, or list the pages your ads point to, and run the health check on just those.
Add the Core Web Vitals speed test too, so the page loads quickly on a phone.
Understanding your health score
You get a score out of 100, with separate scores for getting in touch, messaging, tracking, design, trust, search and speed. Each improvement explains what it means for the business and what to change, sorted by impact and effort.
Begin with the improvements that are high impact and easy to make. Download the PDF for your web designer or send them to your Marketing Plan, then run the check again to see how the score changes.
Who it's for
Business owners use it to see their website the way a new customer would. Agencies use it at the start of a project, or on a prospect's site before a pitch, alongside Prospect Finder.
Three steps
Enter the website and choose its main goal.
Pick a Quick or Full check and how many pages to read. It takes about two minutes.
Work through the fixes from the top, then run it again to watch the score move.
A Quick check uses about 5 AI credits, a Full check about 15.

Website health check questions
What is a website health check?
A check-up for your whole website, measured against what it needs to do for the business, such as bringing in enquiries, bookings or sales. Vantage gives the site a health score out of 100 and a list of improvements, with the biggest first.
Is a website health test the same as a site health check?
Yes, they're two names for the same thing. Vantage's goes a step further by scoring the site against your goal, so the results are about winning customers, not just ticking boxes.
Does a web health check include SEO?
Yes. Every page gets an SEO health check of the basics: titles, descriptions, headings, the sitemap and robots.txt. For a deeper look at one page, and the keywords it should target, use the SEO Auditor.
Quick check or Full check?
The Quick check covers everything apart from the design review and uses about 5 AI credits. The Full check adds an AI review of homepage screenshots on mobile and desktop, and uses about 15.
How long does a site health check take?
Around two minutes for up to 25 pages. Once you've made changes, run it again to see how the score moves.
How often should I check my website's health?
After any big change, such as a redesign, new pages or a new plugin, and before you spend money sending visitors to the site with ads. A check every month or two keeps small issues from building up.
