What Keyword Research does
PPC keyword research for campaigns that pay their way
The keywords you choose decide who sees your ads and what you pay for each click. Keyword Research, part of the Google Ads Manager, helps you pick them using Google's own Keyword Planner data.
What PPC keyword research is for
Every search ad is triggered by keywords. Choose them well and your ads appear for people looking for what you sell; choose them badly and you pay for clicks from people who were never going to buy. PPC keyword research is how you tell the difference before you spend.
Reading volume, cost and competition
For each keyword you see roughly how many times a month it is searched, a cost-per-click range and how many advertisers compete for it. High volume with a high cost per click can still be worth it if the search is close to a sale; a cheaper, more specific keyword often brings better enquiries for less.
If a keyword shows no searches, Google has no figure for that exact wording. Try a shorter version, or remove it from the list in one click.
Choosing keywords that bring customers
Look for searches that show someone is ready to act: a service and a place, words like quote, cost or near me, or a specific product. Searches that start with how to or what is are often people researching, and they tend to cost clicks without bringing enquiries.
From a list to ad groups
Paste a list of keywords separated by commas and up to 60 are looked up at once, with related ideas to fill out each group. Keep each ad group to one theme so the ad can match the search closely, then create the ad group or campaign straight from your list. It is created paused, so nothing spends until you're ready.

What is PPC keyword research?
Choosing the keywords your pay-per-click ads should appear for, using how often each is searched, what a click costs and how much competition there is.
Where does the keyword search volume come from?
Google's Keyword Planner, through your own Google Ads account, inside Vantage's Google Ads Manager.
Is it a Keyword Planner alternative?
It uses Keyword Planner's data, but inside Vantage, so you can research keywords and build the campaign in one place.
Why do some keywords show 0 searches?
Google has no figure for that exact wording. Try a shorter version of the phrase.
Do I need a Google Ads account?
Yes, connected to Vantage. The keyword data itself uses no AI credits.
